Survey running·247 industries ready to buy·100 industry ceilingnext pass in —
You are running several of these at once. From memory.
A dispensary has one restricted category and years to learn it. You have four, or six, and a retainer running on each. The platforms refuse them all, so the work moves to trade publications, associations, directories and events — and each category has a different set of those, with different rules, none of them written down anywhere.
So somebody senior spends a week per client finding out by hand, and the answer decays the moment a destination quietly changes its policy. That is not a knowledge problem. It is a bookkeeping problem nobody has done.
Ichnos has done it. It reads each destination’s own words on whether it accepts a given industry, and quotes the sentence — which is what your client asks you to justify when you put a channel on a plan.
Survey progress
247 of 250 industries mapped deeply enough to sell · 3 still short
The access mapped so far is worth an estimated $10.9M–$87.7M a year across every category, of which $10.6M–$83.0M can simply be bought — which is the line an agency puts on a client plan.Estimated. We do not hold rate cards for these destinations and do not claim to — the figures are banded from published trade-media norms and each route's own kind of access and authority. They are deliberately conservative, and a buyer who thinks the bands are wrong can substitute their own; the comparison still holds.
An industry reaches publishable depth at 24 confirmed open routes — enough that you have a channel strategy for that client rather than a direction. Below that it is not for sale, and the page says so.
The Lockout Index
Which categories are shut out most completely — and which still have the most left. Scored on how severely a category is blocked, whether it carries more than one blocker at once, and how many of the doors we actually opened turned out to be shut.
Scored on three observable things: how severely the category is blocked, whether it carries more than one blocker at once, and the share of places we mapped that publish nothing for outsiders. Industries where fewer than 40 places have actually been read are excluded: ranking those would rank our own coverage rather than their situation.
How much of your roster is actually mapped?
Add the categories you currently run, one at a time. The counts are live, free and need no email — same as the checker in the header.

What you get, and what it costs
The counts are free and always will be. What is sold is the map behind them: every destination named, what kind of door it publishes, and the sentence from that destination’s own policy page saying so. That sentence is the part a client asks you to justify, and the part a competitor cannot fabricate.
One category is $497, with deeper categories priced higher because they took more reading. Carrying four or more? Email me and I will price the set.
If you would rather see it than take my word for it: name the category most active on your roster and I will send that map free, no conditions and no call. Ask for it here.
Find your industry
Three figures, for the one category you care about: how many places we have found where your kind of business is reachable, how many of those have told us in their own words that an outsider may take part, and how many of those you can simply buy.

Eviction and landlord services
Housing is a special ad category with targeting restrictions written to prevent discrimination, and they apply to landlord-side services as much as to listings.

60 of 24 toward a publishable map
$497one-off · 60 confirmed-open places, each with the sentence that says soAccess worth an estimated $82K–$641K a year, purchasable
Twelve places that will still take you — real names, real links, and what each one lets you do, sent to your inbox so you have them to work from. No card, no account. Every industry page already names the routes that cost nothing to pursue, free and with no email at all; this is the same list delivered rather than read.
Or buy the map, or ask for one
Maps are sold per industry at $497, once. Keeping one current — quarterly re-verification of every route in it, plus the log of what opened, closed or changed terms in your category — is $997 a year; every industry at once is $2,997 a year — see what each includes. Every one is a real document — see a sample before you decide: it is the genuine medical tourism map with the first three entries in each section shown in full, quoted policy sentences and all, and the identities after that withheld. If your industry is not on the list, say so — a request moves it up the queue faster than anything else, because it is demand telling us what to build rather than us guessing.
How it works
Three stages. Each is measured separately, so we always know which one is leaking — and the one that is leaking is the one that gets worked on.
Stage one
Learn the language
The vocabulary an industry uses among itself — its regulators, licences, statutes, trade bodies and technical terms. Say them correctly and you are inside the trade; say them wrong and you are visibly selling something.
Stage two
Find where it is spoken
The publications, associations, forums and newsletters where that vocabulary actually appears. Not where an audience might plausibly be — where its language demonstrably is.
Stage three
Check the way in
Whether each destination accepts anything from outside, read from its own advertising or submissions page and quoted verbatim. This is the step that turns a list of places into something you can act on.
The ways in are rarely what people expect. Almost no trade publication says “write for us” — what they publish is an advertising page, a press-release wire, a business directory, an events prospectus, a membership. For a client that cannot buy ads on the major platforms those are not lesser options. They are the channel, and a site that sells advertising has already decided that outsiders may reach its audience.
Locked Out: Agencies
One issue a week, on Wednesdays, comparing two restricted categories and the point at which their channels stop resembling each other. Written for the firm running several at once rather than for the business inside one.
This is a map of places, never of people. There is no contact data in it and there never will be, because the obvious commercial version of this product is a lead list and we are not building one. Nothing is submitted or sent on anyone’s behalf. And nobody pays to appear in the survey — a destination is in it because it published a policy, not because it bought a place.
Who we map for
Industries that are lawful, licensed where a licence exists, and restricted by platform policy or advertising regulation — rather than by a record of enforcement for deception.
Every term in that sentence is a fact you can check, which is the point: we do not decide whose lockout was deserved. That is the judgement the platforms already made, and disagreeing with it is the reason this exists.

Two plates on the same data: Ichnos for businesses is written for the company that cannot advertise, this one for the firm running several of them. The writing lives at Locked Out: Agencies, which compares two categories an issue, and Locked Out, which takes one industry at a time for the operators inside it.
